Construction cranes are large-sized machines and mechanisms specifically designed for lifting, moving, and installing various construction materials and equipment on construction sites. They play a key role in organizing work during the erection of buildings, bridges, industrial and engineering structures, ensuring the efficient and safe transportation of heavy loads to significant heights and distances.

This category includes various types of cranes, including tower, truck, crawler, and overhead cranes, each adapted for specific operating conditions and scales of construction projects. Tower cranes are often used in the construction of multi-story buildings due to their ability to reach considerable heights and provide a wide working radius. Truck cranes are distinguished by their mobility and versatility, allowing quick movement between sites. Crawler cranes provide stability and efficient operation on uneven and challenging terrain. Overhead cranes are primarily used in factories and warehouses for horizontal movement of loads along a fixed path.

Structurally, a construction crane consists of several main components: a mast or boom, lifting mechanism, counterweight, stabilizers, and the operator’s cabin. Together, these parts enable the lifting of heavy and voluminous loads, moving them precisely and safely to the required location. Depending on the tasks and characteristics of the site, different types of ropes, blocks, grips, and auxiliary equipment are used, enhancing the equipment's functionality.

The use of construction cranes significantly reduces construction time, decreases labor costs, and improves safety on the construction site. Modern cranes are equipped with automated control systems that enhance operational accuracy and provide monitoring of the equipment’s technical condition.

Photographs of construction cranes often demonstrate their monumental scale and important role in infrastructure projects, set against various architectural and natural landscapes, showcasing the diversity of models and their usage in a wide range of climatic and geographic conditions.
