Lunch culture encompasses the set of habits, traditions, and practices associated with the consumption of food during the daytime. This concept includes not only the physical process of eating but also the social, ethical, and organizational aspects manifested in different societies and cultures.

Lunch culture is expressed in a variety of formats and rituals: from family lunches and corporate breaks to public events and restaurant traditions. It takes into account features such as the order of serving dishes, preferred foods, dining etiquette, as well as the duration and location of the meal.

Within lunch culture, physical conditions of the meal can be identified: the use of furniture (tables, cutlery), the organization of space (cafeterias, cafes, workplace dining rooms), and the available technologies for preparing and consuming food. An important aspect is the typical components of the lunch diet, which may vary depending on region, climate, and seasonality of products.

Lunch culture is connected with the eating regime and the time allocated for the daytime meal, reflecting the features of work or study schedules, as well as social norms and economic conditions. From a preventive and therapeutic perspective, it can also include rules of healthy eating and principles of a balanced diet.

The study of lunch culture allows for understanding the interaction between humans and their environment and society through food practices, identifying differences and similarities in dietary traditions, as well as tracing changes influenced by urbanization, globalization, and technological progress.
